Brenda
Anderson has more than 20 years of leadership and organizational development experience in Fortune 500 corporations, with heavy concentration in the financial services industry. She has held key leadership roles in human resources, training and development, operations, accounting and financial management. Prior to joining The Galilee Agency, she was Vice President, Special Markets in the E-Commerce Division, Wachovia Bank (First Union National Bank), Charlotte, North Carolina.
Brenda has been recognized in the American Banker, Charlotte Business Journal and Charlotte Observer for her leadership and role in the development and implementation of a nationally acclaimed community development initiative, eCommunities First. In addition to the eCommunities First accomplishment, Brenda also led the development and launch of www.firstunion.com/primero, an in-language web-site featuring information in Spanish about financial services and products.
A proven organizational consultant, facilitator and innovative leader, Brenda is a strategic thinker who gets results with cost effective solutions. Her insight and dynamic coaching ability have consistently allowed her the opportunity to lead teams and organizations toward achieving high performance goals. As the Human Resource Relationship Manager for an Information Technology Services Division, she implemented a major human resource intervention that integrated performance management, compensation and competencies. As a result of this implementation, retention and employee satisfaction realized significant improvement. She was also instrumental in leading the organizational change and human performance transitions in three large mergers for the division. She is currently a member of an international leadership development team supporting Alcoa Europe, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The work includes assessment, program development/facilitation and application for strategic and global leadership excellence.
Brenda is the co-designer of a program piloted at Johnson C. Smith University as part of the US Department of Labor Workforce Development Partnership Grants initiatives. The White House has also recognized her for her contributions to economic development.
In October 2003, Brenda coordinated and promoted the South Carolina State Conference NAACP Annual Conference and Civil Rights Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. The conference received national coverage for the “Carolina Roundtable,” a forum which featured seven of the ten declared 2004 U.S. Presidential candidates.
Brenda was named as one of the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2004 Diversity Catalysts and 2006 Women in Business Achievement Winners. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego and pursued graduate study at San Diego State University. She has numerous professional certifications.
Brenda’s diverse community and professional service reflects her dynamic leadership capabilities. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Charlotte and Hickory’s National Public Radio sources, WFAE and WFHN, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, North Carolina Women’s Business Center Board of Advisors and the Women’s Financial Advisory Group for Mass Mutual. She is Past President for the Diversity Council of the Carolinas Board of Directors. Brenda is a member of Carolinas Organizational Development Network, the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Charlotte and GoTrade North Carolina. She is a 2003 graduate of Leadership America North Carolina.
